FOOD SECURITY IN OCOZOCOAUTLA, CHIAPAS: CULTURAL, POLITICAL AND SOCIAL ANALYSIS THROUGH FOOD PRACTICES

Cultural nutrition in society plays an important role in nutrition, sustainability and in the identity of the municipalities. Identity is built through social relationships, knowledge, ancestral roots, gastronomic heritage, in this sense through Zoque culinary ingredients and preparations, taking as a sample the inhabitants of the municipality of Ocozocoautla, who continue to preserve food culture, despite to the different economic, pandemic and political adversities, through different traditions, one of them the Zoque Coiteco Carnival. Therefore, this article offers analytical insights with the support of an ethnographic study on food, practices, and the relationship that exists between traditions and social knowledge converging with issues related to politics and food security.
